I can’t tell you how many times I tell her to watch out for puddles. “Oh, don’t step in that. You’ll get your shoes wet!” And every time I see the quiet disappointment on her face, I flashback to my childhood. I remember that feeling. That urge to break the stillness of smooth water with one forceful smash of my foot.
So on this day I said, “Grab your boots, girl”. Because sometimes, you need to bend routine. Sometimes you need to jump in puddles.
Besides, we have a giant puddle at the end of our driveway that was just begging to be jumped in.
